Wish List
No patch today. Rolling restarts only so relax! You have another week to get that toon to 80 or get that last piece of whatever from Naxx or run around Dalaran in circles while yapping with guildies and the rest of Trade…
Today, I’m going to post my wishlist. My list of things I’d like to see Blizzard implement and/or change. Of course my wishlist only affects me so no comments along the line of “hey what about blah blah?” Post your own wishlist.

Jewelcrafting
For the love of Elune, please change this system. Currently, there are four professions in the game that require some sort of currency exchange to learn new patterns/recipes/designs: Cooking, Leatherworking, Enchanting and Jewelcrafting. Leatherworking and Enchanting merely require an exchange of profession-specific mats (shards, leather, fur, crystals) for new patterns. This means, people with a ton of money can go gobble up all the mats they need from the AH and buy up everything and people with a moderate amount of money farm mats and buy them regularly.
Cooking and Jewelcrafting work on a daily token system. You do a daily and get a token and save those tokens for certain recipes/designs. Now, with cooking, you have the chance to get an additional token from the spice bags and all recipes are a flat 3 tokens (with the exception of Fish Feast which is 5) and there are about 4 pages of recipes.
I’m fine with that.
Jewelcrafting, on the other hand, is a completely different beast. You get one token a day – just one, no chance to get more. Your rings and necklaces cost anywhere from 5-6 tokens. Meta gem designs cost 5 tokens. All other rare cuts cost 3 tokens. And, to top it off, all of the epic rings/necklaces require at least 4 Dragon’s Eyes, which cost one token apiece.
See the issue here?
I counted it up – it would take me at least 6+ months to learn every design and that’s IF I don’t purchase any Dragon’s Eyes or Jewelcrafter Gem patterns for myself or a guildie who needs a ring made.
Please, Blizzard, change this and here’s how to do it: Make the Epic and Meta gem cuts to be a mat turn-in similar to Leatherworking and Enchanting but make it gem-specific. You want the Bold Scarlet Ruby cut? You have to trade a Scarlet Ruby for it. You want a Relentless Earthsiege Diamond cut? Earthsiege Diamond is your currency. Keep the epic jewelry and Dragon’s Eyes purchaseable by tokens if you wish but give us a way to get our cuts faster so we can actually use them for profit and for help. I cut loads of gems for my guild and it’s a major bummer to see that a guildie needs a certain cut and have to tell them, “If you give me 3 days, I’ll have it.”
Guild Alliances
Face it, Blizzard, there are a plethora of guild alliances on every single realm and a bit of support for them would be nice. People stay in their own guild for a variety of reasons be it having friends in real life, family, raiding schedule, playstyle, size, etc. But alliances are often formed between guilds that run raids together or hang out together or for whatever else reason. Some sort of nod to them is overdue.
Create a separate chat channel for Alliances. Yes, I realize that you can create chat channels, but that requires broadcasting the channel name and any password out and getting people to sign into it. Give us a pane where the GM’s from each guild (or just the “head” guild) can set up a chat channel for all members of the alliance guilds. That way they can broadcast messages such as raid times, forum updates, etc across all the guilds instead of playing the WoW version of telephone. ”Hey I posted a new guide for warlocks” eventually disintegrates to “Your mom is a murloc” by the time it reaches the officers of the third guild in the alliance.
And give us a way to look at their rosters without having to either add them all to our friends list or do a /who all the time. Yes, I’m lazy.
There’s been the idea of Alliance havens ala Guild Halls where members of the guild or alliance can go and hold meetings, have their own vendors, bank access, etc. Guild Wars implemented this system and it worked pretty well. This would be another delightful gold sink in the game as you can make having a Guild Hall for your Alliance be some extravagant amount of money like 100K.
Shaman Stuff
- A glyph or talent to increase the time of Feral Spirit – I love my wolves. I want them out longer.
- A way to move totems to your new location (instead of having to recall and then recast)
- Being able to, as with Earth Shield, cast Water Shield on another player
- Ghost Wolf usable indoors (it’s a shapeshifting effect and if Droods can do it, so should we)
- Removal of the global cooldown for all shock spells – just make them cooldown individually already
- Either more options for Slow OH or remove the “hand” requirement from slow fist weapons
Sanctuary
Okay, I get the idea behind “sanctuary” really, I do. The Horde and the Alliance are setting aside their differences for the time being to fight this common enemy in outer space or the frozen north.
Right.
Lag much, anyone? Shattrath (before it was a ghost town) was nigh impossible to move around in but at least you could fly off at a moment’s notice. Dalaran is almost worse because of the confined space and lack of flying allowed. I shouldn’t have to have the absolute top of the line hardware in my computer to run in Dalaran without looking like a badly filmed movie.
Just give us separate main cities already. No, you don’t have to go back to BC and split up Shattrath but split up Dalaran. Dalaran is a human mage city anyway and one of the Horde quests is for them to go mercilessly slaughter the mages in Hillsbrad so why the hell would any of them allow Horde into Dalaran? ”You killed my brother! But, here, have this seal whey and our mounts are 20% off today. Enjoy!”
Makes no sense.
So, if you could submit a wishlist to Blizzard, what would yours be?
