Yep, that all changed with Wrath. Now, go straight AP after you attain your Hit and Expertise caps. But, get ready, it’s all going to change completely with Cataclysm.

i havn’t done much raiding as a shaman since BC and am just starting out now. gem wise, i seem to recall much of my gem choices centered around str since it gave 2ap per point. is that no longer the case? ap is the better way to go for a red gem?

I would focus on Attack Power. Attack Power will increase both your melee damage (white damage) and your spell damage (yellow damage) because of your mental quickness talent.

It seemed like I would never reach the expertise and hit cap but, now that I have what stat should I focus on next?
(unbuffed numbers now)
Attack Power 3374
Crit Chance melee 23.84/ spells 16.23
Haste 38
Armor Pen 140 (I think)
